Please be respectful of all that is here and enjoy the beautiful surroundings with its abundant wildlife, birds and fishes.
Do your best to conserve energy by turning off the A/C when not needed and please recycle according to the guidelines of the municipality. The water is from our new well which is sixty feet into limestone bedrock. The water tests out at a ph of 7.2 slightly alkaline which is very healthy and provides the body with calcium with every mouthful. The white spots left on the dishes are calcium in solution and are easily removed with a dry tea towel.
Please tidy before leaving so my caretaker Claire can have the cabin ready in time for the next guest. Please observe all fire regulations as the area can become a tinder box in days of summer heat. Hurricane Fiona left me with a mess in the forest to clean up as did our ongoing silvaculture work in thinning the forest to improve its health and accessibility, it is a work in progress. Be careful on windy days as there is still a lot of dead tree removal to complete.
It is my families wish that you enjoy your stay and come again to share with us this wonderful bounty on Eilean Ceap Breatuinn ( Cape Breton Island). Cuin' a thig thu a-rithist (when will you come again). Thoir an aire (take care).
